Its origins date back to early Christian VI century and was built in the central area of the city. <br />

Bishop Rotario between the eleventh and twelfth centuries, changed the cathedral in the Romanesque style and the area took on its current plant.In 1760-82 the building was rebuilt in neoclassical style by the architect Giordano Riccati from Castelfranco Veneto. The facade dates from the early nineteenth century and was made by Francesco Bomben and Gaspare Petrovich. Later it was also rebuilt, inward, the ancient century portal dismantled with the construction of modern facade.
