It was founded in 1496, on a joint laic-religious initiative aimed primarily at countering usury practiced by Jews. The seat was made over the church of Saint Lucia and then extended over San Vito (1561) and a new wing with arcades along Via San Vito (1761). <br />

The result was a complex and picturesque collection, closely connected with these churches and the adjacent municipal buildings. Inside: Chapel of Rectors XVI century, paintings by L.Fiumicelli and L.Pozzoserrato; S.Florigerio's works , G. from Treviso the Elder and L.Giordano.
