Just below the Via Canonical are the remains of a building of the late antique Treviso. The mosaic decoration presumably dates back to the first half of the fourth century. A.D. and its interpretation as primitive baptismal classroom Treviso; for some historians, however, it is not excluded that the system is traceable to an urban housing complex of aristocratic property and only later transformed into a baptistery. The outer band represents dolphins couples with their tails entwined in a trident, punctuated by a stylized motif that perhaps meant to represent a twisted shell. In the intermediate zone, that is the most extensive, winding vines with birds and cupids occupied in the grape harvest and with a female head which certainly is a season, probably the autumn. The inner band is adorned with fish and shells.
