The name Ca 'dei Carraresi probably comes from the fact that the' Hospicium had been used as the seat of officials and soldiers of the noble family, which perhaps requisitioned it for a time, what is deduced mainly by the presence on the facade of their coat of arms. The facade on the side of Via Palestro is characterized by the portico with five round arches supported by four stone of Istria pillars with a square base and the series of four elegant three-light windows, that open on the first floor. On the second floor there are five small square windows, at the arches of the portico, and two Czechs tombs on the sides of the central window completes the symmetrical distribution. the facade on the side of the fish market recalls the symmetrical structure of the Via Palestro facade five large openings with round arches resting on low profile arches, the same number of rectangular windows on the main floor and the square windows on the top floor.
