Vallio | parrish church

The earliest attestation of the presence of the church dates back to 1152. The Benedictine Abbey of Santa Maria del Pero, in the municipality of Monastier, dates back to the seventh and eighth centuries and not much later should be the Pieve di Vallio. After the rebuilding of Vallio church in the fifteenth century was for over three centuries unresolved issue between the community of Vallio and San Cipriano. Restored and enriched of new furniture, including a valuable organ, during the eighteenth century, the parish church of Vallio is a small jewel of history and art.
