Cittadella | Walkway on the Walls

Built in the 13th century (around 1220) by the city of Padua to defend itself from neighbouring enemies, the elliptical walls extend for about 1.5 km and are interspersed with 32 towers and turrets. Today, it is possible to walk along the entire perimeter of the ramparts, at a height of 15 metres, admiring the historic centre and the surrounding countryside.
