Portogruaro | Summaga Abbey
7 Via Richerio Summaga
The abbey, founded between the 10th and 11th centuries by the bishops of Concordia, now only has its church remaining. The church, built in 1211, has three naves and three apses, with a façade that was rebuilt in the 18th century. The other buildings of the monastery, which existed until the 16th century, have been lost. Since 1444, there have been no monks and the abbey's assets have been managed by commendatory abbots, often members of important Venetian families.
