The Fagarè Memorial is a monument dating back to 1935 dedicated to soldiers who fought in the First World War, located in the province of Treviso. Its exedra architecture houses the remains of over 10,500 soldiers, including two decorated with the Gold Medal for Military Valour and Lieutenant Edward McKey, an American officer and friend of Ernest Hemingway. Historical phrases and verses from the “Canzone del Piave” are engraved on the monument. The complex also includes a museum with artefacts and testimonies from the conflict.
